Everyone has a favorite facial feature. Here's how you can enhance it with makeup!![]() DIY: A prom-worthy smokey eye Your tactic: Layering. Your secret weapons: • eyeliner or creme-based liner in a charcoal or light gray • eyeliner brush • blending brush • eye shadow in a dark gray, purple, or navy • black pencil liner • a light eye shadow with a pearl or shimmer finish as a highlighter Step 1: Use a brush to apply the liner directly on your lid. Apply the liner on the inside of your lid working outward. Remember that the first place the brush touches will receive the most color. Step 2: Using a blending brush, apply the shadow over the liner on your lid. Next, use the blending brush to blend the colors together in your crease area. Do this in a windshield-wiper motion going back and forth in your crease. Add more color to create a darker lid. Step 3: Line your eye on both the top and bottom lashes as well as your water line with a black pencil liner. Step 4: Finish off with the light eye shadow. Apply this right underneath your brow on the corner of the inside of your eye and as a subtle liner on your bottom lash. DIY: Picture-perfect skin Your tactic: Moisturize like crazy. Your secret weapons: • water (to drink!) • exfoliator • facial moisturizer • foundation (optional) • pressed powder • large blush brush • blotting papers (optional) Step 1: Start today. Now. Drink plenty of water, moisturize daily, exfoliate weekly, and see a dermatologist if needed. Step 2: On your prom night, moisturize and prep your skin before applying any makeup. Apply a facial moisturizer, eye cream, and lip conditioner. Step 3: Put on a foundation that matches your skin color. The best way to figure this out is to apply the color on your jaw line close to your neck to make sure the color blends in evenly. The key is to even out your skin tone, so depending on your skin, you may need little to no foundation at all. For those that don't need foundation, a light tinted moisturizer will do the trick. Step 4: Follow up with a pressed powder. Apply with a large blush brush all over your face. Lightly dust it on to help set the foundation and take away any oiliness or shine. Make sure to bring this pressed powder with you on prom night for touch-ups. If your face tends to get oily, you can also use blotting paper to help take away the shine. ![]() DIY: The perfect lip Your tactic: Achieve accuracy with the correct tools (including your finger). Your secret weapons: • lip conditioner (like Aquaphor) • a tissue • lip liner that matches your lipstick color • lipstick • lip brush • lip-gloss (optional) Step 1: Moisturize your lips with a lip conditioner before applying any product. Step 2: Put makeup on the rest of your face while the lip conditioner settles and use the lip products last to complete your look. Step 3: Blot the lip conditioner off of your lips with a tissue. Step 4: Use a liner on your lips that matches your lipstick color. Follow your lip's natural outer shape. Step 5: Fill in your lips with your lipstick color. One great trick to help the color last all night is to use your finger to apply the first layer of lipstick. This will cause the lipstick to act as a lip stain. Step 6: Apply a second layer of lipstick with a lip brush for better accuracy. Step 7: Apply a gloss with a shimmer finish over the lipstick for an added touch. To make your lips appear fuller, apply an extra spot of the lip-gloss in the center of your lip only and avoid blotting. Make sure to bring the lip-gloss for added touch-ups throughout the night.
