For her birthday, Jamie's boyfriend of two years, Juan, took her to see a Broadway show. Jamie decided to ask him to prom as they were waiting for the curtain to go up. After she asked, Juan, who had missed his own prom in high school, took Jamie's hand, kissed it, and whispered, "I'd love to go."

PROM PLANS Jamie knew that if she got a head start on the planning process, she'd save herself a lot of stress. "I was totally calm about it," she tells us. She bought a dress that she loved about 8 months before prom. But there are some things you just can't plan for -- like finding an even better dress at the last minute. "I saw it in the window and totally fell in love with it," Jamie says of her light pink Alfred Angelo evening gown. "It was totally elegant -- I felt and looked like such a princess." At a store in the mall, she found a pair of white heels that coordinated with her dress. "I wanted to wear something comfortable," Jamie says, "but who ever found high heels to be comfortable, right?"
THE PERFECT DATE As for her date's role, Jamie couldn't have been happier with Juan's involvement in her big night. "He went all out in the planning," she tells us, "and made sure everything was perfect from the suit down to the corsage." Juan told Jamie before prom that he did not want to wear a boutonniere. Nevertheless, he bought her a "totally fabulous" corsage with a single white orchid and two roses that were white and pink. "I had the best corsage out of the people in my limo," Jamie says with pride.
PROM PRETTY For her hair, Jamie wanted an elegant, sophisticated style to match her dress. Her hairstylist swept Jamie's tresses into a dramatic French twist. "It stayed in the entire night," marvels Jamie. "Not a piece of hair was out of place. I loved how it looked." Jamie headed to the BeneFit counter at Macy's for her makeup application. "I knew I could count on them to make me beautiful," she says. Jamie opted for a fresh and natural look, but she did ask the makeup artist to make her eyes glow. Jamie also got her very first manicure and pedicure for the big night. She finished everything off with a dash of Victoria's Secret Heavenly fragrance. "A light, sweet scent just for the occasion," she tells us.
FANCY FOOD Considering the wonderful night that was to follow, the evening didn't start out well at all. "The limo was over an hour late!" Jamie says. Eventually, though, their Excursion arrived and Jamie was pleased: "I had so much fun inside!" Prom was held in a hotel ballroom, where the couple and their friends were treated to a three-course meal. Jamie chose filet mignon for her main course ("The first time I ever had steak!" she announces), which she deemed delectable, and she sampled Juan's fish, which was equally good. "I loved the people at my table," Jamie says of her dining buddies. "It was so friendly and everyone talked to each other."
TIME TO PARTY They all danced the night away to the sounds spun by a DJ. After their prom song ("Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton) was played, Jamie and Juan stayed on the dance floor as Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable" ("Our song!") began to play. "We didn't even request it," she recalls. "It was so romantic because the song actually meant something to us." Jamie counts this special moment as one of her favorite moments from prom. After the dance, Jamie, Juan, and their friends went on a party cruise, complete with dancing and a comedy club. Were the comedians funny? Jamie couldn't say. "We fell asleep through the whole thing!" she admits. "I was so tired from dancing the entire night." But as for the rest of the evening, Jamie has no complaints. "I felt so happy that night," she tells us. "I will never forget it."
