Becky certainly didn't have to worry about a prom date. She and her boyfriend had been going out for a year, so it was understood they'd go together. But when it came to everything else -- her hair, the limo, her friends -- Becky was a wreck. "You name it, and I worried about it," she says.

PRE-PROM JITTERS A self-proclaimed stress case, Becky started planning for prom five months in advance. "I was worried about everything!" she tells us. Dress shopping could have made it worse -- but it didn't. "I am a very picky person," Becky admits. She shopped for three days straight until she found the one at Sears: a bright red Chad Meyers dress with spaghetti straps and rhinestones. "I instantly fell in love with it," she remembers. Becky found silver sandals at Rack Room shoes and completed her look with faux diamond jewelry and accessories at Claire's. Hardly one to leave anything to chance, Becky went with Darrell to pick out his tuxedo. They selected a semi-traditional look: a black jacket with a white vest. "It was different enough to get noticed," Becky says. Becky and Darrell also ordered the boutonniere and corsage together, before prom night. His was a single white rose, and hers was a corsage of white roses tied with a silver ribbon. "Very pretty," Becky says.
BEAUTY TALK Becky decided she wanted her hair to look perfect for prom, so she went to the salon for an updo -- which took much longer than expected. "A whopping 2 1/2 hours!" Becky says. But it was worth the time. "I was really satisfied with it," she tells us. The do was more intricate than it looked -- the next day when Becky took her hair down, she counted 125 bobby pins! For her makeup, Becky headed to the Estee Lauder counter at Belk's. "I didn't go for anything too dramatic, just soft and elegant." She was especially pleased with the shimmering blue shadow the makeup artist used on her eyes.
TIME TO PARTY Becky, Darrell, and their friends rode to prom in a limo ("Lots of fun!" Becky says). When they arrived at the Marriott Marquis ballroom, they were floored by the decorations. "[It was] Mardi Gras -- awesome theme!" Becky exclaims. "Colors were great...decorations looked fabulous. They even gave out beads!" Throughout the evening, prom-goers snacked on fruit, cakes, and cookies. "The food served at prom was really amazing!" remarks Becky. She and Darrell sat at a table with close friends they'd both grown up with. "We had a great time laughing and dancing," Becky says happily. A DJ provided the music. "He played a couple popular songs twice," Becky recalls. "But all in all it was great."
AN (ALMOST) PERFECT NIGHT Just one snafu occurred during the evening. Becky's self-adhesive bra became dislodged! "It lost its stick because of my sweat during dancing, so [the stickies] fell out." Becky confides. But she didn't let it faze her for a minute. "I wasn't mortified," she assures us. After the dance, Becky and her gal pals said goodbye to the guys and headed to one of their houses for a girls-only sleepover. Becky had a blast at prom with her sweetie Darrell, but she tells us she also had "tons of fun just hanging out with the girls!"
